The Fannin County Children’s Center is seeking a Family Advocate/Forensic Interviewer for the Children’s Advocacy Center. An ideal applicant will have experience in working with children, youth, families. Ideal candidates may also have previous experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team that includes Child Protective Services, law enforcement, prosecutors, medical and mental health providers.
The Children’s Center is looking for someone who is dedicated, team-oriented, flexible and hard working. Duties will include providing support services for children and families, forensic interviewing of children and adults with disabilities when sexual or physical abuse is suspected, developing a strong working relationship with the multidisciplinary team, documenting services provided and testifying. Ideal candidates have excellent interpersonal skills and are detail oriented with strong time, project, and schedule management skills. Computer proficiency is required (MS Office products preferred) with the ability to learn new internet-based systems and applications as needed.
A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice or related field or equivalent relevant work experience is also required. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred. Must love dogs, as this position will be sharing an office with our facility dog Render and his primary handler.
