April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. Because we are all being advised to stay home due to the COVID-19 crisis, all of our suggested activities for the month can also be done from home.
Let’s have some fun this month! We want everyone to have 2020 vision to be able to know and see the signs of child abuse.
What to do:
- Take a photo of you and your family wearing glasses – regular glasses, silly glasses, sun glasses – your choice! Bonus points if you also wear blue and/or hold a sign with a message about child abuse.
- Post it on social media and use the hashtags #SeeTheSigns #2020VisionChallenge
- Challenge at least 3 of your friends to do the same!
Let’s get this challenge started on April 1 and have it go viral all month long!
Let’s have some more virtual fun on Go Blue Day in Texas! It’s a day to wear blue in honor and memory of victims of child abuse. Wear blue, take photos and post them on Friday, April 3.
Suggested hashtags include:
If you are willing to let us post your photo too, please email them to us at email@example.com.
Blue Sunday – April 26
On the last Sunday of April, faith communities across our country are asked to pray for abused and neglected children, as well as the volunteers and professionals who work with them. #BlueSunday
