Kudos Corner

York Children's Foundation - Stephen Murden of Wise Funeral Home (pictured above) presented the Children's Center with a donation of $500 from the York Children's Foundation.  The York Group manufactures caskets and created the foundation to support non-profit organizations who serve children.  Wise Funeral Home sells caskets made by York and wrote a letter of support for us which was a required element of our funding application.  We are very grateful to both organizations who have been generously and faithfully supporting the Children's Center for many years!

WalMart  - Jerrie Faulkner, Store Manager of WalMart in Bonham presented a donatin of $1,000 to Sandy Barber with the Fannin County Children's Center.  This gift is part of the grant program at WalMart which supports the local communities where WalMart stores are located.
Brookshire's - Brookshire’s Store Director Jeremy Morton recently presented a check for $2,000 to the Children’s Center. Brookshire’s has been a faithful supporter of our agency for many years.  This year the company held a golf tournament.  Proceeds from the event benefitted Children's Advocacy Centers in many different Texas communities where Brookshire's stores are located. We certainly appreciate their gifts which have helped to sustain our programs for children.

Kiwanis Club of Bonham has been faithful supporters of the Children's Center for many, many years.  This is one group that gives generously with their time, talent and treasure.  Many of their individual members are current and former board members and CASA volunteers.  The group supports the center financially with proceeds from their Trades Days.  Our Executive Director Sandy Barber is also invited to speak to the group at least once or twice a year.  Pictured at right is Kiwanis President and Fannin County Sheriff Kenneth Moore, Sandy Barber and Kiwanis Secretary Mary Karl.

Caps for Kids - Helen Richardson (left) knitted several baby caps with yarn bought by the daughter of Velma Bullock (center). They recently presented them to Joyce McGehee (right) with the Fannin County Children’s Center. The caps will be kept in the Rainbow Rooms until they are given to babies who are in being served by the center due to abuse or neglect. We appreciate the love and care that went into making these caps for the littlest children we serve!

CASA Painting - Dr. Lee Schreiber donated a painting of the original CASA office to the agency. Executive Director Sandy Barber accepted the gift, which is now proudly hanging in the center's lobby. The painting was created by Debra Cloudt, who is a former CASA volunteer. The painting depicts the agency's original office space, just off the downtown square at 220 E. 5th Street in Bonham. We are grateful to Dr. Schrieber for his generous donation which will help us remember where we got our start in serving kids!

Texoma Living! Magazine included a story and numerous pictures from our annual Justice Is Served funraiser for each of the last two years. A picture of State Representative Larry Phillips and our Executive Director Sandy Barber was even included on the front cover of the Winter 2008 issue! First Baptist Church of Bonham - Kudos to the Sunday School class led by Ray & Gloria Campbell at First Baptist Church of Bonham. Around twenty adults and a few youth gave up their Saturday morning to give the Children’s Center a good, deep cleaning inside and out. They set to work right away to clean, vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, mow, trim, pull weeds, and disinfect toys and more. We appreciate their time, energy and efforts to keep our center looking good!

First United Methodist Church of Leonard has been a huge supporter of our agency for several years. They collected more than 80 short sets for the Rainbow Rooms at their Vacation Bible School in 2006. The Women’s Mission group donates tons of toys, clothing and other presents each Christmas. In 2008 the adults collected new coats at their Christmas Party too. Several members have helped wrap gifts too. We are truly blessed to have such a dedicated and generous group as our partner.

Chi Lambda has been a generous supporter of our agency since we got our start in 1993. They were the first organization to grant us funding and we appreciate their vote of confidence and support over the years. We are grateful to this group of women who’s annual auction raises thousands of dollars each year for many different children’s programs within our community.

Media Partners We are blessed to have wonderful support from our local newspapers, magazines, radio, television and on-line news sources. Their frequent coverage of our events, activities and other news helps increase community awareness about child abuse, increase our volunteer pool and widen our donor base. We apreciate the support and partnership of all of the following:
