| Open Your Heart! Youth Art Contest Use your art to help other kids! Calling all young artists! The Fannin County Children’s Center is seeking artwork to use in our upcoming annual campaign. Two winning entries which best illustrate the theme “Open Your Heart” will be reproduced on cards to help us raise funds to provide advocacy, counseling and other critical support services for abused and neglected children in Fannin County. Artists may want to include the words “Open Your Heart” and/or “Fannin County Children’s Center” in their creation. Suggested themes include caring, hope and encouraging others to help children. Awards – sponsored by Dr. Jim & Valerie Tarpley * $100 gift certificate to WalMart & a special ribbon to the artist whose work is selected for the front of the campaign card * $50 gift certificate to WalMart & a special ribbon to the artist whose work is selected for the inside of the campaign card. All entries will also be eligible to win awards for the Creative Arts Center’s Youth Art Contest!
Rules & Other Important Stuff: * Artists must be age 18 or under, as of March 1, 2008. * Artwork should be no larger than 8.5” x 11.” * Artists are encouraged to frame or mount their artwork for display purposes. Contact the Creative Arts Center for assistance with art materials, mounting and framing if needed. * If your artwork is signed, please tastefully cover up your name, so our judges can’t see! * Entry form (below) must be completed, signed and attached to the back of the artwork. * Entries will be accepted at the Creative Arts Center at 200 W. 5th in Bonham on March 1- 31, 2008 during regular business hours: 10 am to 6 pm Tuesday – Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays. * All entries will be displayed at the Creative Arts Center from April 12 – 25, 2008 * All winners will be announced at the “Celebrate the Child!” opening reception at the Creative Arts Center on Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 1 – 3 pm. The two winners for the “Open Your Heart” contest will also be recognized at the Fannin County Children’s Center during Network Nites on Thursday, April 17 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
